Dirk studied architectural drawing and is an engineer by trade, but he has worked with natural stone since 1977. For 30 years he was head of the stone division at one of Europe’s leading restoration contractors with stone processing factories in Belgium and France. His department numbered 50 people and turned over €6m.
With expertise in design, estimating, procurement, and manufacturing, Dirk’s unique experience is sought by architects and contractors working on some of Europe’s most prestigious projects.
Dirk is based in Belgium and is responsible for technical support, pricing, procurement, and quality control. When not busy with work and family life Dirk enjoys spending time in the natural environment and is especially keen on mountain walking.
Alan has worked in sales and marketing roles within the construction industry since 1983. He learned his trade working for some of the UK’s best known building product suppliers including S.I.G, Redland Lafarge and Forticrete (part of CRH). He was introduced to the natural stone industry in 2002 when he joined Albion Stone.
Alan runs the UK office and is responsible for sales and marketing. When he’s not at work or spending time with his family, Alan enjoys photography and cycling.
“Alan and Dirk were in regular contact with our project team and they accommodated our changing requirements as the project progressed. They provided a quality service and we would be happy to use them again.“
